Phish & Chips

RAQ finished their Winter Tour with a stop in New York City at the Bowery Ballroom. I've always enjoyed RAQ, but haven't caught them live yet (hopefully that will change). Two great sets of music here with an amazing jam during the set featuring Walking in Circles>Technoavailable>Walking in Circles>Circumstance. This is a soundboard matrix with thanks to Ed Maier and Ned Struzziero.

If you've never heard of Toubab Krewe here is your chance. This is a great audience recording of this afro-beat based group. I've also included a video at the bottom of this post. Have a good weekend!

I've seen these guys a few times opening up for The Big Wu alongside my hometown heroes in Stealin' Strings and I always come away impressed. This show sounds great, and if you're interested in hearing some blues mixed with extended jams and funks this is definately a great download to start off your week.

I was checking out the Live Music Archive the other night searching for another great show to post, and I heard this show from Soulive. Previously, I haven't really covered Soulive but this 3 piece definitely caught my ear and I've been enjoying their funky rock music with also adding a mixture of soul and jazz music. This show is from this past April at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia. This show is a pretty good recording that features a few covers including appearances by a Phish & Chips favorite in Grace Potter and Reggie Watts.
