Take Me to the River

Originally written by Al Green and Hi Records house guitarist Mabon Hodges in 1973. The track first appeared on Al Green Explores Your Mind (The Right Stuff). However, my personal favorite version of "Take Me to the River" was done in 1978 by the Talking Heads. "Take Me to the River" also became a top 40 hit for Talking Heads.

Opening Day

The baseball season kicked off last night in St. Louis, but more importantly my Milwaukee Brewers took on the LA Dodgers and beat them 7-1 with a great performance by Ben Sheets. I was cruising on MySpace the other day and heard a couple of old Brewers songs that I thought I'd share today. These songs were written and used mostly in the 1980's primarily for the Brewers last pennant race in 1982.
