Sex In The 70s

Another powerful band out of San Francisco, Tea Leaf Green has begun their ascent into "stardom" with the jamband circuit. After touring heavily in the summer while hitting up several festivals such as Bonnaroo, Wakarusa, and High Sierra Music Festival people are beginning to notice the powerful rock and roll style that TLG brings to the table. Guitarist Josh Clark definately demonstrates that he was influenced by guitar legend Jimi Hendrix with his strong work during expressive and exciting live shows. However, singer/songwriter Trevor Garrod who also plays piano reminds me of Paul Simon really brings the band together with his smooth vocals.

Most of TLG's recent success came from best form of publicity as in word-of-mouth from tape traders. Their most recent studio release Living In Between was self-released in 2003 otherwise you'll have to head over to etree.org to find recent live shows. This week they'll be headed to Turin, New York to make an appearance at the 6th annual moe.down.

TLG supported the Dave Matthews Band in late August with side stage performances at the Gorge and while my roommate was taking in the beautiful sound he was able to pick up a performance recorded live compliments of KPFA.
